The Parker Academy, a self-contained educational institution founded in 1839, represents the first school in Ohio, and possibly the country, to offer gender and racial equality-based education in the same classroom between 1839 to 1889. Our work is situated within a larger transdisciplinary approach initiated by Northern Kentucky University (NKU) among historians, geographers, and anthropologists (archaeology and ethnography) which began with preliminary archaeological and archival research in the spring of 2015.

This blog follows the anthropological and historical research, findings, and associated activities of the Parker Academy Archaeological Project.  You can also follow us and out progress on Instagram: http://www.pictaram.com/user/parkeracademydig/3220190523
